RigSpec — semi-trailer configurator
A trailer builder that takes a customer from chassis to quote in five steps, with the vehicle rebuilding in 3D as they go.
Presented under the example brand “Northline Trailer Works”. RigSpec is my own product; the brand is illustrative, not a customer.

What is RigSpec?
RigSpec is a browser-based semi-trailer configurator that takes a buyer from chassis to priced quote in five steps, with the vehicle rebuilding in 3D as options change.
RigSpec configures a semi-trailer across five stages — chassis, running gear, body, doors and interior. Box lengths run from 28 to 53 feet, interior heights and kingpin settings follow real industry standards, and the model orbits so a buyer can inspect the rear doors, a side door or the landing gear directly. It closes on a price breakdown and a quote request.
What RigSpec does
- Five-stage flow: chassis, gear, body, doors, interior, then review
- Box lengths from 28′ to 53′, with interior width fixed to the 98–100.5″ industry standard
- Kingpin settings at 18″, 36″ and 41″ — short setback, standard, and European spec
- Orbit-and-click inspection of rear doors, side doors and landing gear
- Live price breakdown and a quote request at the end of the flow
- Enclosed van and flatbed trailer types
How RigSpec is built
- Kingpin position changes the fifth-wheel geometry under the nose — a real dimensional relationship, not a swapped texture
- Industry constraints encoded as fixed rather than configurable, so invalid trailers cannot be specified
- Direct part selection in the 3D view driving the configuration state
Common questions about RigSpec
What is RigSpec?
RigSpec is a semi-trailer configurator. It covers chassis, running gear, body, doors and interior across five stages, then closes on a price breakdown and a quote request.
What trailer specifications does RigSpec cover?
Box lengths from 28 to 53 feet, interior heights of 102 and 110 inches, and kingpin settings at 18, 36 and 41 inches — short setback, standard, and European spec. Interior width is fixed at the 98–100.5 inch industry standard.
Can buyers inspect the trailer in 3D?
Yes. The model orbits, and the rear doors, side doors and landing gear are directly selectable, so a buyer can inspect the parts that matter rather than reading a spec sheet.

RigSpec is one of several configurators I build and operate. If you manufacture something with options, the same approach applies to your product line. Based in Birmingham, UK, working remotely.
